According to Bleeping Computer, the Black Basta ransomware gang are behind the attack, a group who's activity were first observed in 2022. Some of the information had been stored in the system since 1998. Toronto Public Library Data Breach: The Toronto Public Library has said that sensitive, personal information relating to their employees, as well as library customers and volunteers, was stolen from their systems during a highly sophisticated ransomware attack. “Preliminary results from the investigation indicate that the compromised database did not contain personal or protected information about patients or employees.” November 15 “Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) identified and contained a cybersecurity incident in which a database was compromised and has launched an investigation into the incident,” the center revealed in a statement published by The Record.
